gettylab
I stopped recruiting new grad students several years ago and am winding down my lab, in anticipation of retirement. This is the last "in-person" gettylab group photo, from 2017-18:
Tom Getty - still playing the parts of Woody and Buzz.
Helen McCreery joined the lab as a James S. McDonnell Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow in fall 2017.
Helen has now moved on to a postdoc at Harvard.
Sara Garnett - was a PhD student working on kinship, competition and cooperation in tadpoles;
a past NSF GK-12 Fellow with supplemental BEACON fellowship support.
Sara is continuing at MSU as a postdoc and teacher.
The things Sara knows are a never ending source of amazement.
She has a good run as a contestant on the TV game show Jeopardy.
Eben Gering joined the lab as a Research Associate Fall 2013.
Eben led the development of several terrific new BEACON-funded research projects, including:
"Chickens of the Sea: Post-Invasive Evolution of Hawaii's Feral Gallus,"
and: “Impacts of brain-manipulating parasites on host fitness and social behavior”
- examining the impacts of toxoplasmosis on pets, livestock and wildlife in the Masai Mara Reserve.
Eben is now on the faculty of Nova Southeastern University
